Virtual Consultations

Hello RJ Orthodontics Families

We hope you and your families are well, and we will continue to pray for your health and safety during this time.

Due to Governor Abbott’s executive order regarding non-emergency dental procedures, we are required to postpone all procedures that are not immediate medically necessary. With that said, our desire is to follow the mandate while continuing your treatment and avoiding any potential delays to the completion of your treatment. Therefore all appointments will be completed virtually until at least April 21, 2020. The advantage of virtual appointments is that it will allow us to continue to monitor the progression of your treatment while still operating within the guidelines.

To perform your virtual appointment, we ask that prior to your appointment time, you take five specific photos of the patients teeth (center, left, right, upper, lower) that will be examined and assessed by Dr. RJ. Below you will find examples of the photos we will need for the appointment, along with instructions on how to take each photo. Once you have taken all five photos, please email them to us (info@rjorthodontics.com) prior to your appointment date. On the day of your scheduled appointment, a member of our team will call to discuss status of your treatment progression and next steps.

  1. A person other than the patient should take the photos if possible.
  2. Below each photo are instructions on how you should take that photo so that Dr. RJ is able to make an accurate assessment.
  3. Be sure each photo has proper lighting. Poor lighting or overexposure will make it difficult for Dr. RJ to examine the photo.
  4. To ensure photos are as clear as possible, it is best to sit the patient in a chair with a tall back, so the patient can lay their head back for support.
  5. Before starting the photos please wash your hands thoroughly!
